How ready is your growth engine?
Twelve honest questions. Your score and your three best next steps appear as you answer. No email needed.
What this check measures
The check looks at twelve parts of a B2B growth engine: who you target, how you spot buying signals and act on them automatically, whether you watch priority accounts for trigger events, how you send cold email, how you prepare for and follow up on calls, how inbound leads and role switches are handled, whether sales and marketing share one account list, and whether you can see which channels bring revenue. It shows where the cheapest improvements are, not a grade on your team.
The levels
- Starting out (0 and up): Most growth still depends on effort and luck. Good news: the first fixes are cheap.
- Taking shape (38 and up): The basics exist but live in people’s heads. Write them down and automate the repeat work.
- Running (63 and up): You have a working system. The gains now come from timing, AI and measurement.
- Compounding (88 and up): Your system learns from its own results. Keep tuning, and share what works.
The questions
- Targeting. Could your team describe your ideal customer in two sentences, including who is not a fit?
- Timing. Do you have a short list of events that tell you a company may be in the market to buy?
- Outreach. Do you send cold emails from separate domains, so your main company email stays safe?
- Always-on plays. When one of those signals appears, does outreach start automatically through an always-on campaign?
- Preparation. Before a first call, does your sales team get an automated account brief with prior touchpoints, fresh research and the teams involved in the decision?
- Follow-up. After a call, do notes and next steps reach your CRM within a day?
- Inbound. When a new lead comes in, is it enriched and routed to the right person automatically?
- Role switches. Do you track your customers and prospects for role switches, with the CRM updated and the owner alerted automatically?
- One account list. Do sales and marketing work from the same list of target accounts?
- Account watch. Do you monitor your priority accounts for trigger events, such as a new leader, funding or an acquisition?
- Website intent. Do you monitor your target accounts for website visits, map which funnel stage they are in and reach out accordingly?
- Measurement. Can you see which channels bring meetings and revenue, not only clicks and leads?
